Who We Help

Scholarships

Yountville FOCUS encourages locals who are pursuing higher education and provides a gesture of support as they advance their lives through education. Since 1989 FOCUS has granted over $180,000 for local scholarships.

Charitable Good Causes

FOCUS gives scholarships as its major concern and since 2002 has also supported the following organizations that they, themselves, have given to Yountville and beyond:

  • Yountville Festival of Lights - The highly anticipated holiday event features the town’s renowned MICHELIN-starred restaurants and wine, holiday carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, late night shopping, free entertainment and a special appearance by Santa Claus.   • Yountville Friends of the Library and Napa County Public Library at Yountville - The Yountville Library is an integral part of the Community Centre and provides programs for all the citizens of Yountville. www.countyofnapa.org/library/yountville/
  • Native Daughters of the Golden West: George C. Yount No. 322- These ladies support FOCUS by being our caterers for the Holiday Party and we jointly participate in many local serving events in Yountville throughout the year. www.ndgw.org
  • Taste of Yountville - Held the 3rd Saturday in March by the Yountville Chamber of Commerce.  This event is set along walk-friendly Washington Street as a gourmet gallop of such culinary icons as Thomas Keller’s Bouchon, Redd, étoile at Domaine Chandon, Bottega, Bistro Jeanty, Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar, Mustards Grill, Bardessono, Pacific Blues and NapaStyle Paninoteca. Key winery participants include Domaine Chandon, Jessup Cellars, Bell Wine Cellars, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Goosecross Cellars, Hopper Creek Winery, Girard Winery and Somerston Wine Company, among others.   • Toys for Tots - Our local Yountville Cal Fire Department will be on hand each year at the FOCUS Holiday Party to accept gifts for the local Toys for Tots drive. 
  • Untied Shoelaces - Funding for a child’s healthcare needs not covered by other resources, on a case by case basis (800) 652-0094 
  • Veterans Home of California - Located in the heart of scenic Napa Valley, the Veterans Home of California-Yountville  is the largest veterans’ home in the United States, offering residential accommodations for some 1,100 aged or disabled veterans (both men and women) from World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. FOCUS most recently donated money to replace the State Flags that line the entrance. Click here for the CalVet website.

 

  • Yountville Community Centre - As the community of Yountville opened its beautiful new facility, FOCUS supported the needs for equipment for youth and seniors.  www.townofyountville.com

  • Yountville Elementary School - Yountville FOCUS has been a supporter of both the needs of teachers and activities for the students at Yountville Elementary School.  There is a direct link between our mission and supporting this local educational institution. We have also provided funding for Junior Achievement materials for the students. Click here for website.
  • Yountville School Foundation - The Foundation was created to save Yountville School from closing.  Yountville FOCUS supported the organization with fundraising. 
  • Yountville Pre-school - Located beside the Yountville Elementary School is the Napa County Child Development Program.  It provides high quality services in safe, nurturing environments that will promote the well being of the whole child.  Yountville FOCUS has supported the preschool in purchase of equipment or supplies.   • Yountville Thanksgiving Dinner - Supported by Yountville Kiwanis, the Town of Yountville, Yountville FOCUS, Villagio Inn  & Spa and the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Yountville has provided Thanksgiving dinner for the community in Community Hall.
  • Yountville Teen Extreme and Yountville Travellers - Yountville FOCUS has supported various needs of the Teen program and Travellers program as these young people set goals and attain them through fundraising efforts.
